Laboratory Assignment # 4
The purpose of these exercises is to become familiar with HTML syntax for formatting text and for building links. For both exercises, print both the HTML code and NetScape output. Use Adobe GoLivefor this assignment.
1.1 Demonstrate the use of the <SPACER> tag for formatting text. Note that this laboratory assignment contains 7 <SPACER> tags: 4 with attribute type="horizontal"; 2 with type="vertical"; and 1 with type="block". Note that type="block" requires the additional attribute align="left" in order to tab over a whole paragraph as is the above "purpose" statement. Demonstrate the use of all three type of spacers.
1.2 Use the <FONT> tag to format the purpose statement as size 5, magenta, Palatino font.
1.3 Use the <PRE> tag to format the Calorie Table of Figure 7-13.
1.4 Apply the Heading tags, <H1>...</H1> through <H6>...</H6> to the first 6 Chapter heading of your text.
2.1 Write a Web page with Text Links to the three search engines: AltaVista, Google, and HotBot.
2.2 Find a Web source (e.g., www.giveaways.galganov.net/buttons.html) for attractive buttons and capture three of the best images.
2.3 Add the three button images to your Web page and turn them into graphical links to three UW-Parkside departmental home pages.
